FAQ

Does it hurt?

Most people feel a mild tingling or warmth during the treatment. Deeper peels may cause more intense sensations, but discomfort is temporary and manageable.

With deeper peels, you may experience visible peeling or flaking as your skin sheds dead cells. Lighter peels often have minimal to no noticeable peeling but still deliver great results.

Avoid touching the area for at least 12 hours. You should also avoid harsh skincare products (like retinol and exfoliants for 2 weeks) and refrain from exercising and saunas for 72 hours. No avoid sunlight for 4 weeks post-treatment. Always wear SPF to protect your fresh new skin!

You may experience visible peeling or flaking as your skin sheds dead cells.

Light peels can be done monthly for maintenance, while medium and deep peels are typically spaced further apart, depending on your skin’s response.

Reveal Brighter, Smoother, and Younger-Looking Skin

Unveil a fresher and more radiant complexion with a professional chemical peel—your skin’s ultimate reset for fading fine lines, acne scars, and dullness at Premier Med Spa.

What is a Chemical Peel?

A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing treatment that uses a specialized chemical solution to gently exfoliate the top layers of skin. This process removes dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and stimulates collagen production—revealing brighter, smoother, and more even-toned skin. Chemical peels can effectively treat fine lines, acne, sun damage, and discoloration, making them a powerful option for overall skin rejuvenation.

Chemical Peel Procedure:

Skin Evaluation

Your visit begins with a warm welcome and a one-on-one consultation with our skincare expert. We’ll assess your skin type, concerns, and goals to determine if a chemical peel is the right solution for you.

Personalized Treatment Plan

Based on your skin’s unique needs, we’ll select the appropriate chemical peel type and strength—whether you’re targeting acne, fine lines, hyperpigmentation, or dullness.

Skin Preparation

We’ll thoroughly cleanse your face to remove any oils, dirt, or residue. This ensures your skin is clean and ready to fully absorb the active ingredients in the peel.

Chemical Peel Application

The selected chemical solution will be carefully applied to your skin. You may feel a mild tingling, warmth, or stinging sensation—this is normal and typically lasts only a few minutes.

Monitoring & Removal

Our APPs will closely monitor your skin’s reaction and remove or neutralize the solution at the appropriate time to prevent over-exfoliation and ensure optimal results.

Neutralization & Soothing

A neutralizing agent or cool compress may be used to stop the chemical activity, followed by calming serums or moisturizers to soothe the skin and minimize any redness or irritation.

Post-Treatment Guidance

You’ll receive detailed aftercare instructions to protect your freshly exfoliated skin. This includes tips on sun protection, gentle skincare products, and what to expect during the peeling process.

Aftercare Instructions:

Avoid Sun Exposure

Protect your skin from direct sunlight for at least 7–10 days. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day, even when indoors or on cloudy days.

Do Not Pick or Peel

As your skin begins to flake or peel, resist the urge to pick, scrub, or peel it manually. Let the shedding happen naturally to avoid scarring or irritation.

Keep Skin Moisturized

Use a gentle, hydrating moisturizer multiple times daily to help minimize dryness and flaking. Look for fragrance-free formulas with soothing ingredients like hyaluronic acid or ceramides.

Skip Harsh Products

Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, acne treatments, or any skincare products containing AHAs, BHAs, or benzoyl peroxide for at least 5–7 days post-peel, or as directed by your provider.

Cleanse Gently

Wash your face with a mild, non-foaming cleanser and lukewarm water. Pat your skin dry—never rub—with a clean, soft towel.

Avoid Heat and Sweating

Refrain from activities that cause sweating, such as exercise, hot showers, saunas, or steam rooms, for 48–72 hours after treatment to avoid irritation.

Avoid Makeup Initially

Wait at least 24 hours before applying makeup, or follow your provider’s recommendation. If makeup is needed, choose non-comedogenic and lightweight formulas.

Stay Hydrated

Drink plenty of water to support your skin’s healing from within and help flush out toxins.

Follow Up as Recommended

Schedule and attend any follow-up appointments with your provider to monitor your skin’s progress and determine if additional peels are beneficial.

Benefits of a Chemical Peel:

Improves Skin Texture and Tone

Chemical peels exfoliate the outer layers of skin, leaving it noticeably smoother, softer, and more even-toned.

Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles

By stimulating collagen production, chemical peels can visibly reduce the appearance of fine lines, especially around the eyes and mouth.

Minimizes Acne and Breakouts

Chemical peels help unclog pores, remove excess oil, and reduce inflammation—making them highly effective for treating acne and preventing future breakouts.

Fades Dark Spots and Hyperpigmentation

Sun damage, melasma, and post-acne marks can be dramatically improved with regular peel treatments, revealing a brighter and more radiant complexion.

Stimulates Collagen and Cell Turnover

Chemical exfoliation encourages natural skin renewal, helping to improve firmness, elasticity, and overall skin health.

Improves Absorption of Skincare Products

After a peel, your skin is better able to absorb serums, moisturizers, and active ingredients, making your daily skincare routine more effective.

Non-Invasive Skin Rejuvenation

Chemical peels are a safe, non-surgical way to rejuvenate your skin with minimal downtime and long-lasting results.

Customizable for All Skin Types

With a variety of peel strengths and ingredients, treatments can be tailored to suit your skin type and specific concerns.
